How We Build

No degrees, no coders.
A family that builds with AI.

Every WedgewoodAI app is built entirely with artificial intelligence — not a single line written by hand. We are not software engineers. We are a dad and four kids who refused to let a lack of degrees stop us from building the tools our family needed.

Anyone can build, if they refuse to give up

When we started, we could not code. What we had was a long list of everyday problems and a stubborn belief that we could solve them ourselves. Using autonomous AI agents on the Abacus.AI platform, we learned to turn ideas into working apps by describing them in ordinary language — the same way we would explain them to a friend.

That is the whole method. We think of something our family needs, we talk it into being with AI, we try it, we fix what is clumsy, and we try again. The result is real software — CaddieChat, AuraKin AI, AuraShop, Footprints & Folios — built with 100% AI and zero hand-written code.

We share this openly because it matters. If a single father of four with no computer-science degree can build this, so can far more people than the tech world lets on. That is a message we want neurodiverse kids and anyone shut out of traditional work to hear.

Our Way of Building

It starts with a real frustration

Every app begins with something that actually annoyed us — the scoring on the golf simulator, a household that needed keeping on track, the hassle of hunting for one item across a dozen shops. We only build what we ourselves needed first.

We describe it in plain words

We have no coding degrees. Instead, we work with autonomous AI agents on the Abacus.AI platform, describing what we want in plain language and shaping it, screen by screen, until it feels right.

We test it on our own whānau first

Nothing goes out until it has survived our own kitchen table. The family uses every app in real life before anyone else does — and if it does not make our days easier, it does not ship.

Then we share it with families like ours

Once it earns its place at home, we open it up — kept low-cost on purpose, because we built these for families like ours, not for a boardroom.

“Built with AI” does not mean untested

Zero hand-written code is something we are proud of — but it never means we skip the hard part. Every app is tested the old-fashioned way: by the family first, in our own daily life, then by a small group of beta users who tell us plainly what works and what does not. We would rather ship something simple that we trust than something clever that we do not.
